Things You'll Need

Hand saw Sandpaper Hinges Hook and eye latch Pliers Screwdriver Stain

1 Remove the drawer and meticulously saw the front of the drawer from the box portion of the drawer. Saw the pair sides and alongside the bottom, completely removing the front portion.

2 Sand the edges of the box part of the drawer also the back side of the top piece where it was cut away, using a medium-grit document.

3 Screw hinges to the bottom regarding the drawer box and the drawer front accordingly the drawer front folds down toward you.

4 Attach a hook and eye latch by screwing the hook on one side of the drawer box and screwing the eye on place on the front bit. Use your fingers to turn the screw or use a pair about pliers. Make certain that is you series up the hook plus vision properly, so the hook slides easily into the eye. This will maintain the drawer front closed while not in use.

5 Stain the edges of the drawer box and the back side of the front bit to match the rest of the desk.
