Session: The Eldest Mistake

In the late 2040s, Soukai Corp decided they were going to get an edge on their
competition by sending spaceflights and test crews to Pluto. Soukai named
the Pluto branch Stoker Industries, and in order to cover up their experiments
on the soil, water, and life of Pluto, told the press Stoker Industries was
being sent there to open a mall: the SI Mall. Stoker Industries first
established an underground base some 30 miles away from the mall site before
opening a hypergate for construction crews to come in.

In 2050, the mall opened to great fanfare and success, with Stoker still
continuing their research on the planet. However, an enviromental group
got word of Stoker (and Soukai's) intentions. In 2051, the group dropped a
hydrogen bomb on Stoker Industries' site. The shockwave rippled through the
mall, somehow freezing the time there. Every clerk, shopper, and person in
the SI Mall to this day believe the date is April 1st, 2051. Believing their
work to be finished, the terrorists scattered, leaving Pluto a hydrogen
wasteland.

However, several members of the Stoker Industries team had survived the blast,
though vastly deformed. No one could tell which person was which, who was who,
and the colonists, if they had the notion of fear left in their brains, should
have been frightened out of their wits by now.
